Princeton Mach 7580 TSV3 Disc Wheelset

The Princeton CarbonWorks Mach 7580 TSV3 is the absolute, uncompromising aerodynamic masterpiece of Princeton CarbonWorks' specialist time trial and triathlon collection. "TSV3" stands for the third generation of their revolutionary Tri-Spoke wheel. This wheel was launched on the eve of the Tour de France and has been developed specifically for pure, relentless speed. Even in its prototype phase, this aero weapon claimed stage wins in Grand Tours and victories at the Ironman World Championship. Where traditional solid spoke wheels are heavy and sensitive to crosswinds, the TSV3 combines a radical three-spoke design with Princeton's renowned undulating rim to deliver maximum aerodynamics at all wind angles.

The construction is based on a fully monocoque, one-piece carbon fibre structure. The aerodynamic spokes and the deep rim flow seamlessly into one another. Like the regular Mach 7580, the rim profile subtly undulates between 75 mm and 80 mm in depth to effectively eliminate turbulence around the wheel. What makes this third generation unique is that it has become no less than 125 grams lighter than the TSV2. The wheel has also been redesigned from the ground up around wider tyres. The heart of the TSV3 features the legendary Tactic Racing TR01 v2 hub internals with ceramic bearings, ensuring virtually frictionless running when every fraction of a second counts.

Features

• Weight: Just 880 grams for the front wheel and 900 grams for the rear wheel. A complete wheelset weighs approximately 1780 grams, which is extremely light and responsive for a relentlessly stiff, deep tri-spoke configuration.
• Construction: Fully hand-built full carbon monocoque structure. The carbon spoke blades and the rim edge are structurally a single unit for maximum torsional stiffness and direct power transfer under brutal accelerations.
• Rim profile: A sinusoidal, undulating aero profile varying between 75 mm and 80 mm in depth. Features an increased maximum external rim width of no less than 33 mm to guide the airflow flawlessly around wide tyres.
• Rim bed (Hooked): Equipped with a modern, widened 23 mm hook-to-hook internal width. Princeton deliberately opts for hooked here to give road racers and triathletes complete freedom and safety to ride at high tyre pressures.
• Tyre compatibility: Where the first generations were optimised for narrow tyres, the profiles of the TSV3 have been completely revised for modern 28 mm to 30 mm tubeless or clincher road tyres.
• Hub & Drive: Ultra-high-end Tactic Racing TR01 v2 hub internals equipped with premium, unsealed pure ceramic bearings. These feature a friction-reducing dicronite coating for unrivalled smooth running.
• Axle system & Brakes: Fully developed for modern disc brake time trial bikes with a patented, integrated one-piece aerodynamic axle and a Center Lock disc rotor mount.
• Usage: The Mach 7580 TSV3 is available as a standalone front wheel, standalone rear wheel or as a complete set. In the pro peloton, the front wheel is frequently combined with the Princeton Blur 633 V5 as the ultimate time trial combination.
