The ENVE SES 2.3 wheelset is a performance-oriented, feather-light and aerodynamically refined premium carbon wheelset from the prestigious Smart ENVE System (SES) top line. These wheels have been developed for one very clear purpose: dominating the mountains. Where its bigger siblings (the 3.4 and 4.5) embrace all-road and gravel tracks, the ultra-light SES 2.3 is the ultimate dream of the uncompromising climber who goes purely for top performance on tarmac. Please note: unlike the rest of the SES line, this wheelset is designed specifically for road use and is explicitly not suitable for gravel or unpaved terrain!
The construction is based on a carbon rim handmade in the USA with a subtle, asymmetric climbing profile: a 28 mm deep rim at the front for razor-sharp steering and maximum stability in unpredictable gusts on descents, combined with a 32 mm deep rim at the rear for optimal stiffness and power transfer. What makes this climbing set unique is that, despite its extremely low weight, it features a modern 21 mm internal width and ENVE's patented Wide Hookless Bead technology. This widened, hookless rim edge effectively protects the tyre against pinch flats (snakebites) when riding over poor road surfaces. The SES 2.3 is built around the absolute top-class ENVE INNERDRIVE™ Premium hubs. This feather-light, oversized ratchet system responds instantly as soon as you stand on the pedals to accelerate on a steep section.

• Construction: 100% handmade premium carbon with ENVE's exclusive Molded Spoke Holes. Equipped with aerodynamic straight-pull spokes in a non-contact pattern, contributing to an extremely stiff wheel and preventing unwanted noise.
• Rim profile: Aerodynamically differentiated climbing profiles with a rim depth of 28 mm front and 32 mm rear. The internal rim width is 21 mm and the external width is 25 mm.
• Rim bed (Hookless): Fully hookless (straight-sidewall), tubeless-only design. This ensures a seamless and aerodynamically efficient transition between the rim and the tyre, resulting in lower rolling resistance.
• Tyre compatibility: Designed exclusively for tubeless (and tubeless-ready) tyres. Fully aerodynamically optimised for modern 27 mm tyres, but safely compatible with tyre sizes from 25 mm up to a maximum of 32 mm.
• Hub & Drive: Ultra-high-end ENVE INNERDRIVE™ Premium Road hubset with an oversized 42 mm steel ratchet drive system (60T as standard for road racing). Equipped with stainless steel bearings and the automatic Perfect Preload system, which maintains the correct bearing preload at all times.
• Axle systems & Brakes: Fully designed for modern disc brake thru axles (12 x 100 mm front and 12 x 142 mm rear) with a reliable Center Lock disc rotor mount.
• Cassette compatibility: Perfectly matched to the latest 11- and 12-speed road groupsets and available with a Shimano HG, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W freehub body.
